About the role:
As a vital cog in our wheel, the warehouse is where it all comes together, from receiving goods in to shipping goods out, it is integral to the success of the organisation. Supervising in a specific area, the successful candidate will ensure that processes and procedures are followed and SLA’s are adhered to, as well as keeping to strict H&S regulations.
What you’ll do:
Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) to complete daily operational tasks
Be both proactive and Reactive to the warehouse operation and the volume
Attention to detail regarding the hours in operational areas, move the workforce around as a result.
Escalate issues to line manager (operational, defected equipment, personnel)
Record volume in each operational area and track against set targets, daily, weekly and monthly
Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSEQ)
Comply with Health and Safety legislation, as well as company policies, procedure and site rules
Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is readily available and used where applicable
Assist Warehouse Manager with weekly, monthly, annual safety checks, including actions
Maintain Hygiene standards, regarding both the warehouse and the workforce.
Assist Warehouse Manager to achieve job results through coaching, counselling, annual appraisals and the disciplinary process
Carry out 1:1 with the warehouse team. Highlighting both areas for improvement and areas where performance is good.
Assist the Warehouse manager with training to fill skill gaps, where identified
Assist in the retraining of processes annually, triggered by either time frame, process change or performance management rating.
Be responsible for Opening and closing the site where needed using both CCTV and Alarm systems.
Challenge any visitors, drivers, contractors on site regarding Signing in, permits to work and PPE
Who you are:
Experienced in supervising in a busy logistics environment
Track record in managing staff and performing against targets
Positive and friendly, with the ability to work well equally as part of team or independently
The proven ability to organise, plan and prioritise a changing workload
Ambitious and able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
