Day to Day Job

  • Line management of Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager and Facilities staff

  • Lead, develop, coach and motivate the team to deliver key performance results and ensure all deadlines are met, adhering to strict SLA and company policy and processes

  • Identify gaps, implement and drive continuous improvements across the function in order to enhance the performance of the business

  • Develop the operational strategy including aims and objectives, putting plans in place to cover operational requirements and potential risks

  • Play a key role on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), leading and overseeing the operational growth of the business

  • Establish people and function KPI’s and monitoring mechanisms, reporting results to the SLT.

Warehouse:

  • Oversee quality control of goods in and out

  • Oversee annual stock audits across multiple storage locations

  • Overall operational accountability across multiple sites both domestic and international. 

  • Conduct regular and random site visits to make ensure that efficiency, accuracy, quality and service standards are maintained or exceeded

  • Design/Improve and implement policies and procedures across multiple sites and ensure best business practices are consistent. 

Logistics/Fulfilment:

  • Successfully design and deliver on the organisations plans for internationalisation

  • Manage in-house and 3rd party couriers to ensure timely delivery of items to customers

  • Drive cost reductions

  • Monitor courier invoices & refunds for damaged/undelivered items

  • Drive continual improvements in stock control, including reductions in write- offs and wastage

Facilities/Health & Safety:

  • Oversee and enforce the implementation of policies and procedures (e.g. logistics, warehouse management systems, Health and Safety policies and processes) for all Xbite premises

Desired Skills

  • The ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity and work with a high degree of autonomy and initiative to deliver results

  • Experience of managing multiple operation teams and of managing and implementing board level projects

  • A deep understanding of customer facing businesses and their challenges

  • Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills

  • Operated at senior or board level and will have experience in fulfilment and logistics environments.

  • A proven track record in leading and motivating teams to deliver key targets against a broad range of KPI's in a demanding customer focused and sales focused environment.

  • Strong initiative and problem solving skills with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage multiple stakeholders in your vision.

  • A strong level of emotional intelligence, be a hands on leader and be adept at managing people

  • The ability to report to key stakeholders within the business on department performance

  • Previous experience of working within a fast paced e-commerce fulfilment centre environment

  • Previous experience working in a hands-on Operations Manager/Director role

  • Be forward thinking and a problem solver to help the team achieve its goals
